Ambient technopop.
This guy (Richard D James) has a very distinctive style of
techno/ambient - he (re)builds a lot of his own equipment. He
uses a lot of different names, like
AFX and
Polygon Window
as well. 'On' is a good example of his style of music, and
it's melodic enough to play to your friends, rather relaxing
and blippy. I just love those super-synthetic rhythm sounds :-)
