Once upon a time there was an immensely cool band called
Age Of Chance. They released an incredibly cool version of the
Prince song 'Kiss' (a few years before the
Art Of Noise also covered it with
the vocal aid of old-timer Tom Jones). Now, Prince is by no
means one of my favourite artists, but the lyrics to 'Kiss' are
really good and the AOC version was extremely good. AOC called
their style of music Sonic Metal Disco - I guess I'd call it
noisy, happy guitar pop with a good beat. Anyway, I've been looking
for 'Kiss' ever since it was released but with no luck whatsoever.
Imagine my joy when I found this CDS - another song by AOC, and
really cheap too! Imagine then my disappointment when I heard the
darn song; cheap, bad standard late 80:s nonsense pop. Ok, so the
melody is quite catchy, but the lyrics suck. And 'Superpower' - why
try to write deep, political lyrics when it only comes out as cheap
nonsense trash? Major flop. (Besides, it seems there was another
singer on this CDS than on 'Kiss' - this guy sounds like Bryan
Adams or something!)
