Comments:
Are you old enough to remember this era? DJ:s were kings, scratching vinyl and sampling like crazy. This guy, Tim Simenon, was one of the best at the time. He was only 19 when he did this, his first album, for a mere ú150. It's true samplemania, and of course he got sued like everybody else in those days for ripping off people who could afford smart lawyers. Other than the sampling & scratching, it's pretty good early British hip-hop with a hint or two of synth pop.
Later, Tim got to produce and remix a whole bundle of stars, and he probably 'made' the success of Neneh Cherry's album Raw Like Sushi. He also remixed a single with Björk I happen to own. Probably his most prestigious work would be producing the Depeche Mode album Ultra, attempting to fill the void after Alan Wilder's departure.
