Here Depeche Mode takes a more mechanical turn on the rhythm side, perhaps inspired by the 'industrial' scene at the time; the over-all soundscape is more professional. The lyrics are somewhat similar to those of Everything Counts but a bit more mature; still on the political side, though.

'People Are People' was the first single off the album Some Great Reward.
