Erasure return with a synthier sound than before (if that's possible), and with lots of lovely blips and synthetic FX; there are nearly no long chords on this album but everything seems arpeggiated instead, making it pleasantly blippy. There are lots of strong songs on it as well, making it one of the best Erasure albums ever. Still, since I've never been quite captivated by Andy's voice I find the album a bit too smooth to listen to all at once, I get a bit fed up after a while. Anyway, there are many damn catchy songs, classical Erasure hits most of them, on this album. Perhaps I'd switch 'Perfect Stranger' for Waiting For Sex since the former sounds more like a B-side than the latter. Funny how things turn out, isn't it?
