Comments:
I'm sure most people my age remember (or can't forget no matter how hard they try) the old Falco hit 'Rock Me Amadeus' from '84 or something. This is the same guy. He has done quite a bit more than that one song, some of it quite good, and when I saw his name and the title of this album I figured I might as well buy it - it was really cheap, so why not? I mean, with a title like 'Data De Groove' I expected some sort of mechanical rhythms at least. I was disappointed.
This album is, while probably made mostly on synths, boring standard pop/rock with cheesy German vocals. Maybe I don't get the point, but this isn't very amusing. Well, perhaps the title of the first track has a point (at least in my mind), but the music is so boring - perhaps that is the point? Nothing new, everything has already been done? It does make a bit sense, but why do this album at all in that case?
And when this German fellow tries to make it funky and rap a bit it's just too plain embarrassing to listen to. And then there's that cheap whitey soul-pop too. Frankly, I can't see any reason why I should like this album at all. I should have saved my money.
