Comments:
InSoc is one of the few good American synth pop bands I've ever heard - the best so far, infact. The music is (I think) purely synthetic with amusing little vocal samples (apparently almost all from Star Trek) here and there. In spite of being recorded in '88, most of the clichés of the era was avoided; the melodies aren't too far from early '80:s synthpop, but with more modern sounds and with a generally funkier beat. I discovered this band ages ago; I once saw the video to 'What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)' on MTV, way back in 1988 or something, and I instantly realised I wanted more from this band. So, I ordered this LP and played it so much it got scratched and started skipping parts. I later upgraded it to CD.
Apart from that obvious 'hit', my favourites would probably include 'Running', 'Walking Away', and 'Tomorrow'. The ABBA cover 'Lay All Your Love On Me' is also quite good, better than the original. Then again, I was never much of an ABBA fan (apart from a short period in kindergarten when I was secretely in love with Agneta).
