Comments:
This is clearly one of my all-time favourite albums. It's a bit like Depeche Mode but darker, noisier and with some occasional dist guitars. Hard synthpop? Maybe. Sometimes it's even a bit EBM-like. Lyrically, this album is perfect to play when you've been dumped by a long-time girlfriend; just about every single song is pretty much just a bunch of whining, but it's my kind of whining. Sonically, the master touch of producer Flood is quite evident. Every sound is in place, there's just right amount of boom in the bassdrum, the dist guitars are perfectly disted, the synth basslines are divine. Ok, so in a way it's a but dated, but for being recorded in 1989 it's still very fresh.
