Comments:
This is the second Orbital album, confusingly also entitled Orbital. To confuse even further, it starts with the same StarTrek:TNG vocal sample about twists in time. To separate it from the first album, people refer to it as 'Orbital II' or 'The Brown Album', or 'The One With Lush On It'. Or perhaps something else entirely. Speaking of 'Lush', this is the track which first caught my attention for this band. An excellent track indeed, with a great video to match (when I see kids playing on green grass in the sunshine, preferrably in slow motion, I think of this track). So why did it take me so long to get it? I had almost all their other stuff before I got this one. Well, about a year after I discovered it, a friend of mine bought it and I leeched off his copy. This shall be no more.
This album is less like 808 State or other mainstream techno at the time, and more in a style of their own. Specifically, when I hear resonant filtered chords I think of Orbital, as they can be found in abundace on this CD.
