Quite often when I see bands play live I decide to buy their albums because they did a good show. Only very rarely do I buy albums from bands I know nothing about after seeing them do a bad show. Never, actually, until now. I saw this band at the Arvikafestival 2002, and quite frankly it didn't sound very good. The songs sounded too monotonous with nothing much happening in them, and the mixing was less than perfect. However, I found something in the music that showed some potential, and I assumed they might sound better on CD. I was right.

So what's it like, then? Well, it's pretty much standard run-of-the-mill EBM-with-growling-vocals; hardly innovative, and this album could very well have been released in 1993. I mean, it's pretty good for a generic EBM band, but it doesn't really stand out in any particular way. Sometimes it's easy to say what other band they sound like, sometimes it's just plain generic. The only really bad song is the last one, a slow track that sounds like it wants to be a slow and noisy Skinny Puppy track, but it fails horribly and is really quite embarrassing. Still, the songs sound a lot better than they did at the live show though, which is nice. And I suspect this band might get better with the next album or so.
