Comments:
Swedish technopop. Lots of acidblips and lovely stuttering bassdrums, with futuristic hi-tech lyrics and some vocoded vocals. This may not sound like the most original concept ever, but it all works quite well and they do have a rather distinct style of their own. The only track I don't particularly like is 'Saurion', which is basically just a poem by Wilfred Owen being read in a stiff Swedish-sounding voice over a soft techno background.
I discovered this band when they played on the X-Ray festival in '96; for some reason I was expecting yet another retro-80:s glam synthpop band, but was quite soon proven wrong by their quite intense techno-trance-pop - within minutes, I was raving all by myself. This album is, unfortunately, a bit stiffer than their excellent live show, but still quite good. The coolest segment of the show must have been when the drummer stepped up and played a tone generator solo, tweaking that little box until it screamed beyond description.
For some reason, Richard Lautrup seems to have left the band and is working on another project (Gu Qin), while the remaining members of this band appear to have change style somewhat.
