Things to do and avoid when changing man pages

The following is an incomplete list of things to do and avoid when changing man pages.

After non-trivial changes, bump the date of the man page (the argument of .Dd at the start of the man page).
Start new sentences on new lines. groff(1) needs to know where a new sentence starts, and ending a sentence on a line end is the easiest way.
