The original file names begin with 20100702. That's the date when I went for a walk to Örnäset, Svartöstaden and Hertsön. Here's a view of a popular beach in Luleå, taken in the middle of the day on a warm summer day: ^549.jpg I saw another snake on the road, well, the skin of one: ^snake_on_the_road.jpg This is annoying: ^663.jpg The shadow looks like another graffiti design: ^665.jpg There was a "bike road" sign at the beginning of this road. After a couple of minutes this is what I see: ^666.jpg ^667.jpg ^668.jpg Not very bike friendly. :-D Does my bike look angry? ^669.jpg Another beach: ^670.jpg (Like I said, this was a warm summer day!) (Actually, just after passing this beach the stony path turned into a bike road again and I met some people who were definitely on their way to the beach.) Train with steel from SSAB: ^688.jpg ^689.jpg An odd looking tree: ^wtf_tree.jpg In one tunnel I found another bike: ^old_bike_side.jpg ^old_bike_front.jpg ^old_bike_back.jpg It seems to have been dragged from the fire, which must have happened a bit further back: ^old_bike_behind.jpg Somebody did some temporary graffiti on the sooty ceiling: ^old_bike_ceiling.jpg The heat melted the lamp in the tunnel wall: ^736.jpg Old Bike, the movie (15 MB): ^OldBike.mp4 Sudden and unexpected end of the road: ^737.jpg (There was a similar place at Porsön, and after many years they actually finished the road, but by then they had to put on new asfalt...) There are not many pools in gardens in Luleå. These are much more common: ^752.jpg (This one is unusual in the way that it's not standing in somebody's garden. I've been keeping an eye open for a place where four or five neighbours all have one, and in such a way that it's easy to get them all into one photo. No luck so far.) Look! It's an alien vampire!!!1! ^758.jpg (but is he a flonker?) It took a minute before I realized that this was not the alien vampire's arm: ^763.jpg My hunt for painted walls led me to look behind a couple of big anonymous-looking "functional" buildings in a sort-of-but-not-quite deserted place: ^774.jpg ^775.jpg ^781.jpg ^782.jpg (Here is another clue for Tim: the big, colourful paintings are often found on the back side of buildings. The owners are not too worried about stuff that most people won't see anyway. A building can have the usual telltale not-quite-colour-matched patchy something-was-covered-here paint on the front and an art gallery on the back!) Welcome to Luleå! ^787.jpg And, another nature movie. Sorry about the weird angles at the beginning. I was too busy checking where I put my feet to pay attention to where I was pointing the camera (14 MB): ^Naturfilm.mp4 The stuff that looks like snow from a distance was actually tiny little plastic balls. For a few seconds there was some wind, which made them move along, bouncing and making a cute sound. Just when I got the idea to aim the camera at it it stopped. I waited patiently for several minutes for another opportunity, but it didn't happen. ^795.jpg ^796.jpg ^798.jpg Another snake. This one is biting its own tail: ^snake_on_the_road_biting_its_tail.jpg A portrait of Tim Weaver: ^804.jpg (I thought he said he hadn't been to Sweden(?)) I met a cat. She was sitting and chatting with me and posing for a couple of minutes. Then I got the camera out to take a portrait... ^809.jpg The Phantom has been here too! ^817.jpg When you see a road like this leading to a tunnel you just *know* there's going to be something interesting there: ^834.jpg ^820.jpg I was right! Some ancient-looking (one of them dated 2003) and relatively undamaged stuff! ^face_12.jpg ^face_13.jpg ^cross_and_clock.jpg ^face_14.jpg ^spell.jpg ^send.jpg ^dangerous.jpg ^Seth_one.jpg ^face_15.jpg ^slack.jpg ^scene.jpg ^SEG.jpg Not sure what this is, but it seems to be wearing glasses and a hat: ^845.jpg Other than that I just went around a bit everywhere, taking pictures of paintings and stuff. ^animals/ ^architecture/ ^art_or_eyesore/ ^flowers/ ^paintings/ ^playground/ (I really should sort those paintings...)
