(There was a similar place at Porsön, and after many years they actually finished the road, but by then they had to put on new asfalt...)

There are not many pools in gardens in Luleå. These are much more common:

(This one is unusual in the way that it's not standing in somebody's garden. I've been keeping an eye open for a place where four or five neighbours all have one, and in such a way that it's easy to get them all into one photo. No luck so far.)

My hunt for painted walls led me to look behind a couple of big anonymous-looking "functional" buildings in a sort-of-but-not-quite deserted place:

(Here is another clue for Tim: the big, colourful paintings are often found on the back side of buildings. The owners are not too worried about stuff that most people won't see anyway. A building can have the usual telltale not-quite-colour-matched patchy something-was-covered-here paint on the front and an art gallery on the back!)

The stuff that looks like snow from a distance was actually tiny little plastic balls. For a few seconds there was some wind, which made them move along, bouncing and making a cute sound. Just when I got the idea to aim the camera at it it stopped. I waited patiently for several minutes for another opportunity, but it didn't happen.
