A good hat should get down far enough to fit _around_ the head:

I have a hat like that, but I found that I have an old saucepan which is

on the saucepan. It worked =)

That way there should be no risk of it falling off.... :D

No, what wold happen would be that the front part tries to fly away but is

no, all it would do would be to tear the hat away from the head... :D

???
There is a hole at the back of those things and I pull my hair through
that.... (well, actually I open the clip and then shut it again around the
hair)
>Yes I do the same thing but in a high wind, the hat just slips down my
>hair. If I attach a metal barette to the clip part and fasten it to my

It isn't "tied" to the hair in any way.... If the hair has thickness 1
unit then the opening that it goes through is about 3 units big...
> Yes I do the same thing but in a high wind, the hat just slips down my
> hair.
:D I suspect the same thing would happen to me, but at least it would
slide down to somewhere near me, not fly away across the road or into a
ditch or something...
> Before I started fastening mine with a barette, I had one slide down my
> hair and then fly in the wind across the road and under the wheel (dirty)

ok, then that method wouldn't work for me either ..... but it feels nice,
and it keeps my hair out of the way... =)
>:^)
More parallellism:

I haven't done that :D [what is a "metal barette"?]

No, I don't think you did, :D (I think it is very comfortable, especially
when I should have washed my hair yesterday and want a reason to keep
wearing the hat indoors....)

hmmmm.... maybe..... but it would still be uneven....

I think I would probably notice.... :D
