Comments:
This is the next logical step after the success of Semantic Spaces; more of the same, only better. More real songs, more guest vocalists (Kristy Thirsk again, Camille Henderson, Sarah McLachlan, Jacqui Hunt and custom-made samples by Lisa Gerard of Dead Can Dance), more sampled drumloops, more well-crafted soft pop-ambient songs. There are less Enigma and Deep Forest similarities, which is a good thing. Not that I dislike either of these two, but I welcome the subtle change. 'Firefly' reminds me a little of a song by Dania of Anything Box, only a bit more melodic and sweeping. Then again, that Dania track reminded me of Semantic Spaces.
In short, a very good soft album, nice for relaxation or for playing to your pop music friends who probably never would stand the old Delerium for very long.
This limited release features an extra CD with some multimedia stuff (that naturally doesn't work with my CD drive, a NEC, but I'll try to test it on another machine) and two extra tracks. The first is another great song with smooth female vocals, much like those on the actual album, and the second more ambient.
