This was a huge hit in '94, getting a lot of attention for mixing in banjoes
with techno. The banjo was played in a fairly large number of sequences of a few bars
each and then sampled,
and the samples were trigged from a sequencer to the bouncy techno backing music.
In other words, it's a purely mechanical performance, but it almost sounds as if
it was played live and hence attracted a lot of people not normally into techno.
It's a fun little tune, but it was quite a bit overplayed at the time. It also
pushed Swedish techno band RedNex to take the country music thingy even further
in techno music (or actually Eurodisco in their case), which resulted in the
embarrassing yet mysteriously hugely successful track 'Cotton Eye Joe'.
