Comments:
This is the very same single that first got me interested in Depeche Mode; for the complete story, see my comments to Speak & Spell. Of course, I didn't actually buy it until a couple of years later, and then at an annoying price.
All the live tracks are from the album 101. It's an entirely live album, but you had probably figured that out for yourself already.
The last three tracks, mixed by Tim Simenon and Mark Saunders, are of varying quality and originality. Track 5 is quite far from the original, and a bit repetative since almost all the vocals have been removed. Track 6 is an, although somewhat disco-ish, quite heavy and rather excellent mix of a great song. I'm still curious to where they got that sample of Martin's voice singing "it's important" in the middle of the "pain" part; that's not in any of the other mixes I've heard of it, nor is it on any DM track I've heard, not even on Martin's solo album. As for track 7: it's even further from the original than track 5 is. It only has a few samples from it, the rest is brand new and not very good.
