Why the name Xibalba?
|

Xibalba is what the Maya-indians called their Underworld. I adopted it as a
name for my website because of several reasons:
- The art of the Mayas apeals to me.
- The religion of the Mayas has some pretty "interesting" details.
- Xibalba contained among other things six rooms of horror - my web site consists of six departments.
- The name itself is cool!

Technical stuff (info 4 geeks)

- The pages are located on
www.ludd.luth.se, a server runing
NetBSD and
Apache.
- The picture on the index page is randomly chosen with JavaScript.
- The menu at the top of most pages is done with JavaScript.
- The top and bottom of most pages are inserted on each page by use of SSI.
- The Calculator is pure JavaScript.
- The GuestBook uses perl, sh-script, some JavaScript.
- The mini-chat uses perl and sh-script.
- All html-code is handcrafted (emacs, vi, notepad).
- Graphics are made with xv, gimp, PhotoShop and Paint Shop.
- I use black background because it's less tiering for the eyes.
