You might wonder why anyone would want to buy a singles collection when he already has all the singles. Ok, let's talk some chronology here: I bought this when I didn't own even one of the singles, and I had little or no interest in getting the singles even if I could find them (which was pretty impossible - they were re-released later, and that's why I have them now). I only wanted to get the tracks 7, 14 and 15 on CD, since they weren't on any of the albums. Later, when I decided that I wanted more, such as B-sides and remixes, I started collecting the singles as well. Nowadays I rarely listen to this album.

There is an American version of this collection as well, entitled 'Catching Up With Depeche Mode'. The track list differs somewhat; 'Leave In Silence', 'Get The Balance Right', 'Everything Counts' and 'People Are People' are left out in favour of Flexible and Fly On The Windscreen, since the excluded ones could be found on the US only release People Are People the previous year.
